DEBRA KATE (GERMANY)

Debra Kate is a U.S. photographer, performer and transgender activist whose work concentrates on issues surrounding self-identification, the dynamics of social or group norms and issues of gender variance. She currently lives in Berlin, where she immerses herself in the city's thriving drag culture.

Her photography has been shown in exhibitions in North America and Europe including the International Drag KingCommunity Extravaganza (Chicago, Winnipeg, Minneapolis, Austin), the Great Big International Drag King Show (Washington, DC), Fresh Meat in the Gallery (San Francisco) and the Wigst�ckel Transgender United Festival (Berlin).

Debra Kate's work has also been published in the first German language drag king book, "Drag Kings: Mit Bartkleber gegen das Patriarchat" and in Transgender Tapestry.

DIANE TORR (USA/UK)

Diane Torr is an artist, director and educator working in performance, film and installation. She has been making performances in New York for over 25 years. Her work explores notions of gender and the erotic, and focuses on strategies to reinvent the narratives of sex and gender. Her solo drag performances have been seen around town since 1982. Diane�s art performances and installations are presented in galleries, performance venues and festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe. She has taught Drag King Workshops in over 20 cities, including Istanbul, Helsinki, Berlin, Glasgow, Lisbon, New York, and New Delhi. She was a protagonist of the feature film, VenusBoyz, by Swiss filmmaker, Gabriel Baur. Diane's work has been the subject of profiles on BBC2 Q.E.D. and HBO's "Reel Sex", in the Washingon Post, Village Voice, London Independent, the Guardian, Der Spiegel, German Vogue, among others. She also receives grants and awards from NYSCA, Jerome Foundation, Art Matters, Yorkshire Arts, and the Scottish arts Council.

EYES WILD DRAG (Roma/ITALIA)

Eyes Wild Drag are one of the main promoters of Italian drag king context, already co-founders of first Italian drag king troupe Butterfly Kings, which has been a significant experience for spreading kinging in our country. Since more than one year, they're performing and carrying on an innovative and original style that, taking inspiration by typical drag entertainment, moves between the Genders,the unpredictable, shapes and looks, driven by a red line of seduction and irony. Three charming drag kings, that in their real life are also musicians, painters, cartoonists and a lady, that by now, since 16 years, has made of prose and research theatre her life fulcrum. Their performance reaches any place: glbt night shows entertainment, experimental theatre festivals and rarefied atmosphere cabaret shows. Roma, Napoli, Milano, Bari, Catania, Perugia, Padova, Reggio Emilia and Berlin are the cities where, in only one year, a unique Gender Drag in our country has been expressed. Not to forget the extraordinary cooperation with Lauren LoGiudice, a drag artist from New York and a bio queen pioneer and also with some other theatre, cinema, photography professional artists. Quite good is Medias attention: i.e. see their participation to 'I viaggi di Nina', a real-tainment TV broadcast on La7 and Sky channels.

JULIUS KAISER (Roma/ITALIA)

Performance Artist and Drag King Performer
Julius Kaiser is an important promoter of the Drag King scene in Italy, whose work is well acknowledged internationally. Organizer of KINGs Village, the first international Drag King Festival in Italy, his activity is in various directions.
In 2006 he created the first Drag King troupe in Italy, Butterfly Kings, and in 2007 he created Kings of Rome with whom he managed to gain important visibility on the Italian national media (Television and Press).
He performerd in the most important Queer events everywhere in Italy together with many artists and performers with different backgrounds. The Royal Drag Family is a project with the famous Drag Queen duo "Le Porompompero" and Kings of Rome.
Julius acts as main character in the short film "A Game for Boy" and of the film "The Kings" by Francesca Fini, still in production.
Since 2007 he collaborates with the artist Kyrahm, with whom he realizes experimental performances (i.e. Human Installations). Here kinging is no longer an end in itself but becomes a means to drive contents through other languages (Performance Art) for a more extensive fruition (Art Galleries, Museum, VideoArt, Performance Art festivals, etc)

Jurij Zoltan Kurgan si è esibito con Kings of Rome dal giugno 2007 in molteplici occasioni a Roma, Torino e Bologna. Co-protagonista del corto "Un gioco da ragazzi" per la regia di Francesca Fini. Attualmente collabora con l'artista Kyrahm e il drag king Julius Kaiser con i quali ha partecipato al Drag Festival di Berlino nel giugno 2008.
